repair install

I had a problem witha virus wich is not cleaned in safe mode.
the PC wouldn't start in normal mode so i did a repair install.
on restart I get the blue screen saying there is a problem with the video
driver.
I started it in safe mode but it tells me windows needs to be activated
before continuing and this can only be done in normal mode.
I CANT get into normal mode how do I get round this.
doing a format and clean install is NOT an option way too much loaded so i
need another way to change the video drivers or force windows to start in
normal mode with the default standard drivers

any suggestions please

You can try to use a live CD and try to scan for vrises by using this one.
Try to burn this Iso image and run the live cd, please read the instructions
on how to scan and restore your system.

Active@ ISO Burner (Freeware) New!
http://www.ntfs.com/iso-burning.htm

Dr.Web LiveCD (burn the iso on a CD then reboot, please read instructions):

Unfortunately, the virus may have caused so much damage that a clean
install *is* your only option (especially since you decided to
complicate things by running a repair install). Once you get your
problem sorted out, look into regularly imaging your hard drive so you
will never run into a similar situation again.

The most important thing to do now is salvage your data. Do you have
access to an external hard drive? If so, obtain or create a live rescue
CD like Bart PE, UBCD4Win, or Knoppix. Then configure your PC to boot
off the CD, make sure the external hard drive is connected, and boot up.
Transfer your data. Be sure to include any installation files you may
have downloaded and saved, your IE favorites, your e-mails and address
book. Post back if you need further instruction.
