Hi,

I have installed windows xp pro in IBM Surepos 500 series pos machine.
After installation, i m having trouble getting it to activated.

We have proxy server which requires authentication. I have set the
proxy information in the internet explorer and saved my password. From
IE, I can browse the net (doesnt ask for password) but windows
activation cannot connect to the internet??? Am I missing something?

Thanks,
D2

Perhaps. Check with the IT Administrator. There could be policies that
restrict the type of files that are allowed to cross the proxy server's
firewall, esp. those of the executable type and activation involves such
files. What's wrong with doing a telephone activation?
