Windows XP Open and Save As dialog boxes display default settings?

Is there a way to customize Windows XP Open and Save As dialog boxes display
default settings? If so, how?

For example, upon opening Windows XP Open (Ctrl+O) and/or Save As, etc...
dialog boxes within Windows and/or any other software application, that the
file menu is displayed in "Details" order.

Thank you, Jerry

This the only free program to change the Open/Save Dialog window.
And it's the only one that does it right.

FileOpenPatcher is the successor of the famous MultiEnhancer.
