was cleaning up some files on my xp prof thinkpad and it looks like I
accidentally removed some system files .. now everytime I start the laptop I
get the message NTLDR is missing and it do not go forward with the startup
process..

I did some research on the web and copied some files on a cd NTLDR, boot.ini
etc and trying to boot from that CD but it is still not working.. the problem
is the cd rom drive is only on the docking station and the I am not sure how
I am config the bios to start from the CD in the docking station.. can
someone please help? Also if there are any other work arounds to get my
laptop up and running.. it will be helpful to know..

Pls advice and I highly appretiate your help

Do you have a WinXP CD?
If so, then put it in and do a System Restore from Boot.

I hate computer companies that do not send out the actual OEM CDs with their
Products.
I hate all of them for that.

I would rather purchase a Barebones system from the manufacture and purchase
my on CD
And deal with it that way, just like I did with my Laptop that I have now.

$1,400 (Incl: Windows XP Pro (or) Windows 2000 Pro)
$969.99 (Incl: Driver CD, and NO OS)

See the price Difference?
Buying Barebones Laptops & Desktops are the best way to go.

Now companies like: Dell, HP and the rest are a hard sell.
But they will do it, if you ask them to, and explain that you already
have you own cd.
(OR)
Ask them if the Original OEM CD will come with the system.
As you do not want to Restore.

I know
This has nothing to do with the topic. Sorry.
