Windows XP Home won't recognise both cdrw/DVD rom and a DVD burne

Hi,

my PC came with a Sony CDRW/DVD ROM. I have now installed an LG DVD burner.
When both are connected, windows will not recognise either. However Windows
will recognise either device if only one is connected. How do I get Windows
to recognise both devices so I can copy CD's & DVDs directly without going
via the hard drive?

You need to set the LG DVD burner's jumper to "slave".

Thanks Carey,

does this mean I can still use the LG independently of the Sony ?
