Hi all,
I have a fujitsu life book laptop S6120 it came with windows XP home preinstalled and I am trying to upgrade it to windows XP Pro will when the computer show 34 minutes remaining to complete the upgrade the computer restart and when it comes back on the set up restart and when get to the 34 min remaining again it restart and keep looping without passing the 34 min time does any one know how to get it to finish the upgrade

When it gets to 34 min and starts the count down to reboot, take the cd out
before it reboots and see if it continues.

I did that and it did not work because it ask me to insert the windows xp cd after it rebooted
when I did insert it it restart the same thing , I have called fujitsu about it and I talked to 3 texh one told me its a bad windows XP CD which I dont think so because I was able to update my old laptop from home edition to pro with the same CD my old PC was sony vaio , I have same problem with that PC but when I took the CD out and rebooted it works it passed the 34 min and finished the installation, but not on this laptop
the tech told me it is a memory RAM problem because I told him I upgraded the ram and he told me to take the extra RAM i added to the pc and try it and it should work so I went and too it out and tried it again but no lock still stuck at 34 min, the third tech told me its not Fujitsu problem because they sell same laptop with xp pro on it and told me its microsoft problem and I need to give them a call

have you changed the boot sequence back so that the first
boot device is your hard drive and not the CD ?

Could be a hardware problem. Laptops have alot of hardware that needs
specific laptop drivers. Most laptops are designed for the os that's going
to go on them.
Or try this. When it gets to the 34 min time and starts to reboot, go into
the bios and change the first boot device to hard drive, then save and exit
and let the reboot continue.

Should think that's HIGHLY unlikely, seeing as the original OS was XP Home,
and the Home and Pro kernels are EXACTLY the same........
