Computer Resets while repairing windows xp

recently i upgraded my motherboard, cpu, memory and graphics card so the next
step for me after installation of those is to repair windows xp. So I popped
in my xp pro sp2 cd and start repairing. Everything went fine when booting
from the CD, then it had to restart so it coudl finsih installation. I let
the computer restart and boot from the hdd. So it begins finishing the
installation and says 39 minutes remaining. At around 34 minutes remaining
right before I ahve to enter the cd key and other settings, my computer
suddenly restarts. I've gone through this process numerous times and now I
don't knwo what to do. Any ideas of how I can fix this that hopfully don't
lead to me reformating my hdd?

From what youve replaced (MB specifically),a repair wont work....You'll need
a clean install of xp.....Also,a "repair" of xp means booting to xp
installation cd,
one would select "install xp" the option to "repair this copy" or a clean
install would
be the choices, where does xp SP2 cd fit in.......

Once again you are wrong Andrew. You most certainly can run a repair install
after upgrading a Motherboard. I've done it numerous times.

Ok I tried that link, and followed the steps. I looked through the error
logs, except I couldn't find pnplog.txt. It was not in the windows folder. I
have also tried removing all unecessary hardware including my sound card,
capture card and extra dvd drive.

I tried an old Windows xp pro sp 1 upgrade CD and it got past the 34 minutes
remaining mark. Only problem is I don't have a product key that isn't already
in use for that copy. So it seems like sp2 CDs have a driver that isn't being
installed. Any other ideas besides trying a clean install or buying a new hdd?
