Windows XP Home Sound Themes

G

Guest

I have checked my Sound Card & Speakers all ok. I can play CDs with full
sound but, for no reason I can fathom the normal sound themes are gone (like
stating & shutdown etc) I have also been umable to show the volume control in
start up even though I have checked the box. The computer is working fine
but I keep thinking I have gone deaf. Can anyone please advise a solution.

Startup and Shutdown Sounds are missing: Two Checkpoints and Two edits:

TweakUI/General/Beep on errors (verify that the box is checked). If you
have installed Neromix 1.3.039, here is the fix:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER

In the right pane you should see: (Default) REG_SZ (Value not set). After
installing Neromix 1.3.039 the Value data changes to nothing (No Name)or
(Default) REG_SZ and nothing under Data. But if you right click and choose
"Modify Binary Data" you will see there is a value. Simply right click the
string and delete it. From there Windows will create the (Default) string
which restores your sound.
