Theme And Sounds Reset

[Technically Challenged]

I've been having a problem where my Windows themes and sounds reset to the
defaults when I cold boot the computer. This doesn't happen every time, but
it is quite often, and very annoying. There is no indication of malware in
the system, I am very dilligent when it comes to scanning. Does anyone know
how this problem can be resolved? Thank you!

[Technically Challenged]

This solved part of the problem. The sounds loaded correctly as did my
desktop image, but the theme returned to the default. Any other ideas anyone?
