Windows XP Home Edition won't shut down

P

Paul Henderson

When I press the start button and then shut down, it acts
as if it is shutting down to the point of displaying the
message, "Windows is shutting down". And, then it hangs
and nothing happens for an infinite time. After an hour
or so, I press the power button and hold it in until the
machine powers down. Help?
