Hello,

I have purchased a computer with MCE but i now have to solve an
unexpected problem : My wife needs to use a specific software for blind
people on this computer (JAWS) and i have just been told that this
software will definitivly not run on MCE but only on Windows XP home
edition (because of graphic card drivers i guess)
What can I do ?. Would it be possible to install Home edition and how
to proceed.
Some peope told me that if i do so i will have to choose wich system i
want to use each time it is started, (which is not suitable for blind
people).

The latest version of JAWS (8.0) supports all OS from 2000 and up, including
MCE. See here:
http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_products/software_jaws80fea.asp#OS

An excerpt from the site:
JAWS 8.0 and Supported Operating Systems
JAWS 8.0 only supports Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home,
Windows Media Center, and Windows 2003 Server. If you are new to JAWS, and
you are running Windows 98 or Windows ME, please download JAWS 7.10 from the
JAWS Download page.

JAWS professional supports the other versions of Windows XP while the
version that only runs on Home is $200 cheaper. XP Home will run you about
$120-200 depending on where you buy it. Then you have the problem of
installing it by either dumping the MCE version of XP or worry about the
dual boot problems. If I had my choice, I would purchase JAWS Pro and keep
the MCE of Windows on the machine. The web site also states that there are
upgrade options. I would explore this avenue.
