Windows XP Does Not Recognize a Q. USB Hard Drive

When I connect my SanDisk Mini Cruzer USB disk to an IBM
600X running Window XP Pro, I get a warning message
informing me that my device is a "High-speed USB device
plugged into a non HI-Speed USB hub" . On other systems
which also have low-speed USB hubs (i.e another IBM
ThinkPad 600X) it proceeds to map the drive to a drive
letter and the drive is accessible. On this particular
machine it does not map the drive to a letter and
consequently it is inaccessible. This machine in
question has all of the latest WinXP patch updates. What
gives?

Can anyone provide a solution?

Try the disk management utility to see if it's recognized
at all. (Control Panel->Admin Tools->Computer
Management->Storage->Disk Management. Once there if it
doesn't show up, try a Action->Rescan Disks. While in the
console you can look at device manager and see if there are
any conflicts as well. This should give you some more info
to go on.
