switched drive letters XP new install

Lloyd

I've just installed XP integrated with SP2 on a new hard
drive on a Dell machine. Perhaps because I accidentally
left several peripheral devices plugged in, a USB hub and
a USB CD-ROM, I've ended up with Local Disk (G:) instead
of Local Disk (C:).

Does anyone know if there's a way to swich the drive
letters back to Local Disk (C:) rather than (G:)?

Thanks for any help.

Lloyd,

there are ways, but after a new install it is a very bad idea to
try to switch drive letters, because of many unfindable,
unchangeable references.

Unplug the removable storage devices and install Windows XP
again from scratch. This is the only clean way to solve this
problem.
