Windows Xp Desktop

My windows xp computer i think has a virus or some type of bug. My desktop
background image wont apper. It is juts blank and a tan color and will
flicker in bettewen the two. I tryed changing backgrounds but when im done it
just shows up as the blank white page. Does anyone know whats wrong, or why
the background image wont apper normal for me?

Go to the Display applet in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab.
Click on Customize Desktop, and then click on the Web tab. You will see
that there are checkmarks next to "My Current Home Page" and probably
"Lock Desktop Items". Uncheck these.

That doesn't address whether your computer has malware. The best way to
determine that is by scanning with a full-featured antivirus (version
no earlier than 2004) using updated definitions. You should also scan
for spyware with Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy (both free).
Update those programs before scanning.
