Windows XP Default Icons Problems

I have a problem where the default icons for many packages, including MS Office XP Pro are not being displayed. They are visible when changing the Icon but do not display. I am sure that this is due to a deleted registry key as I had to edit the registry to remove some other entries after removing a program.. All of the help found mentions the ShellIconCache file but this is not found on the PC in question or my two other PC's running XP. TweakIu doen not fix the problem using Repair Icons option. Any help to resolve this problem without reloading Windows XP Professional and the considerable number of Packages installed.

Hi Rich Barry

The web link had Page cannot be displayed error.
I went to the web address (less the xp_abc.htm) and found a number of references to Icons but nothing that resolved my problem
Any other help would be appreciated
