XP & Spy Sweeper ICON Problem

L

Little Ricky

I'm using Windows XP Home with SP2, and it is working flawlessly! However, I
have an ANNOYING problem with my Webroot SPY SWEEPER program (without
antivirus.) I've contacted Webroot, twice, concerning this problem, but
they've stated that it is a MICROSOFT Windows XP ISSUE. Incidentally, my Spy
Sweeper utility is currently and always kept up-to-date. The problem deals,
specifically, with the Spy Sweeper ICON. Each time I boot-up my computer, the
Spy Sweeper icon does not remain hidden (behind the round blue button with
the white arrow on it) which is found in my XP system tray. Incidentally, all
of my other software icons are always hidden behind the round blue button in
my system tray, EXCEPT for the Spy Sweeper icon, when booting-up. In order to
hide the Spy Sweeper icon, I must always re-configure it in XP in order for
it to remain hidden. Then, my Spy Sweeper icon will remain hidden (behind the
round blue button) until I completely turn-off my computer. However, the Spy
Sweeper icon will fail to remain hidden, and thus re-appear, upon rebooting
my computer. Does anybody know of a way to completely rectify this ANNOYING
Spy Sweeper "icon" issue? (Webroot certainly wasn't of ANY help!) THANK YOU
& HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I Doubt WebRoot Problem nor Windows Problem!. It is a configuration/user
problem )(no Offence meant).
Either Make the Icon Always Hide by Right click the Start Button and select
properties.
On the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties Click on Taskbar Tab then opposite
the :
(*) Hide Inactive icons click on Customize Button.
Locate/Find the Webrrot Icon, either Set it to Hide when Inactive or Always
Hide.
Click [OK] then [OK] again and Reboot your machine.

Second Solution, configure Webroot to NOT start up with windows or download
the Autoruns and remove from the Start up, usually it will be here:
[-]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run =
"Webroot"

Use the Autoruns to remove:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/autoruns.mspx
HTH.

I've already tried BOTH of these "remedies" on my own, in the past, and I
STILL have to configure it the EXACT way and manner you and I stated, in my
initial posting and in your reply. No matter what, this stupid icon STILL
reappears when booting-up.

You`ve just written a couple of things that were not in your original
question , but have you tried the config.ini file in program files ?

No, I haven't tried the "config.ini" file solution you just stated. Would performing this remedy keep my Spy Sweeper icon hidden when configured to do so? And, how would I go about implementing the "config.ini" file solution? Thank you.
