Windows XP Continual crashes

We are continually getting crash signs and crash analysis
indicates the cause is a device driver. I have tried
updating all the drivers I could think of. In device
manager I get the yellow ? around the parallel device
under other devices. Sometimes the machine reboots for
no apparent reason. Can anyone offer an idea for
resolution??
 
Have you uninstalled the parallel device and restarted.
XP may correct the problem on reboot once the conflicting
device has been uninstalled.
