On a fresh boot, windows xp will update the label for the
first cd put in a drive. After that, that label and size
information via the properties window is static and will
not change no matter how many times i push refresh, close
the window and change cds!

This is obviously a bug and I dont uderstand why
Microsoft will not address it and at lease have something
in their Knowledge base addressing the issue.

Is there a work around? Is their a patch available? When
will a patch be available?

I've posted about this same problem. I've also searched
the web several times & checked numeous MSVP sites.

All to no avail. It's like some big secret. Just a
simple "get volume label" from removable media & refresh
as needed..

I don't know why, but M.S. just can't seem to deal with
this question.

Guess they are too busy counting their money
