Recently Ive been using a Registry cleaner and it removed 600 things that the
program said wasnt required but now when I insert a CD, DVD, Portable device
it only comes up with one option thats to do nothing now CD's and DVD's just
open as a folder view and skip auto play althogether, however if the item has
music files it has 3 options and if its a music CD its got the full options.
I really want to fix this as I use it alot.
Anyone know how?

Also .ico files normally show what they are next to them but since using the
registry cleaner it no longer does and I need this fixed.

And last of all my DVD Drive has had its type changed the computer now says
its a CD Drive instead of a DVD drive and I want to fix this aswell.

So please try and help.

Sam,

That's why registry cleaners are a failure. They do more harm than good. See if the registry cleaner has an "Undo" feature. If not, try a System Restore rollback.

I tried to use system restore but it only goes back to the 15th (Yesterday)
it seems the previous restore points have been removed.

If I re-installed Service Pack 2 will this fix the problem?

IMO, reinstalling SP2 for this problem is an over-kill, although it might fix the problems #2 and #3. Third-party autoplay entries will not be restored anyway. Look at these solutions:

"CleanHandlers" - Autoplay repair utility:

..ICO association fix:
