Windows XP automatic startup

I recently installed dsl on a compaq computer. Since that time, computer
turns itself back on after 3 minutes. I shut down windows normally and it
turns itself back on. When I shut off dsl, computer does not turn itself on.
Power options have been checked. Is this a problem with windows or dsl?
Thank you in advance

Hi Phil,

Have you checked the Power Management tab of you network card? Open
Device Manager (Start, Run type devmgmt.msc click OK), open the Network
adapters and right click on your NIC. Uncheck the 2nd option if it's
checked.

Hi Jack,

Check your BIOS settings. You may have a "Wake on LAN" setting that you
can disable.
