Windows XP Audio Testing

Doug

I tried using the voice testing button located under the
control panel/audio. Unfortunately I received an error:
"Windows cannot execute DPVSetup.exe, use Add/Remove
Programs control panel to install.
DirectPlay Voice has encountered an error."

According to Microsoft the following steps should fix it:
"RESOLUTION
This problem generally occurs only the first time that
you run the test. If this problem continues to occur
after the first attempt, follow these steps:
In Control Panel, double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
On the Voice tab, under Voice Playback, click Advanced.
On the Performance tab, move the Hardware Acceleration
slider at least one position to the right."

However I have my hardware acceleration set at the "full"
position which is as far to the right as it goes, and I
am still getting the same error! Anyone have a fix for
this?

If you want to test audio and/or video,go to run, type:
DXDIAG
Windows messenger has a mic./audio test in tools.
