Windows XP Activation

Jeremy

I upgraded from "Windows 2000 Professional" to "Windows
XP Professional". This was an upgrade, not a full
install.

At the time of upgrade, I did not have a network
connection to perform the activation.

Now, when I logon, I get the 30 day activation message,
which I expected. When I establish an internet
connection and try to perform the activation, by clicking
on the message(as it states), nothing happens.

How do I trigger the activation process??

Call the phone # that should be dislayed.

To activate Windows XP over the telephone, you can simply call a toll-free*
number displayed on your screen. A customer service representative will ask
for the installation ID number displayed on the same screen, enter that
number into a secure database, and return a confirmation ID to you. Once you
have typed the confirmation ID, the activation process is complete.

To manually start the process, click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > System Tools > Activate Windows. Alternatively, Start >
Run > "C:\Windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A."
