Windows Wont Detect Tv

Hello there,
I have Windows 2000 and sp4 and some other updates and I'm
running a P3 733mhz with 256mb sdram. My video card is a
Geforce 4 MX440 AGP 8X. The problem is I cannot get
windows to detect my tv and add it as a display device
which in turn I would expand the desktop onto. Connecting
the tv to the video card via s-video or composite video
cables (the yellow ended ones) doesnt seem to make a
differance and absolutely nothing differant happens or
pops up in windows when the tv is connected. This problem
has been driving me crazy so any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

I suspect the reason is that a TV is not a DDC (read NOT PNP) and you
aren't going to be able to use it as a "monitor" in the fashion you are
describing. You can only use it as a display device as far as I can tell.

TV MUST be connected and turned ON
BEFORE powering up computer. Won't
be detected otherwise.

But you still may not be able to "extend" your
desktop onto it, just use it as an alternate
display.

Thanks but yeah, I've had the tv on and connected before
the computer is on or windows starts up.

I'm so dissapointed :(
