HELP: Win XP and PC TV Tuner

I have a problem getting Win XP to work with my Cable TV digital Set Top Box
and my PC's TV Tuner Card.

The Set Top box has Composite Audio/Video (A/V) jacks i.e. Yellow, White &
Red. But the TV Tuner card only have a Composite Video (Yellow but no Red,
White) and a S Video. It also has a TV In (RF) port. The Set Top Box
also have "RF Cable In" and a "TV Out" ports.

I connect a Co-axial cable from the Cable point in the wall to the Set Top
Box's RF Cable In port, then I connect the ST Box's TV Out to the PC TV
Tuner Card's TV In (RF). Finally I connect the ST Box's Yellow Composite
Video to the PC TV Tuner's Yellow Composite Video port.

The PC TV Tuner driver then scanned and detected only the Over-the-Air
broadcast TV channels. It failed to detect most of the digital Cable
channels.

I'm using Hauppage's WinTV HVR 1100 PC TV Tuner card. See:

I have Win XP Home Edttion SP2, 2gb RAM, AMD Athlon Dual Core 4200
processor, 300 gb HD, Samsung 19" LCD display.

Please advise how can I get it to detect all the Digital Cable channels.

Simply use the video cable (yellow) to connect to pc-in video,most run off a
vcr,simply because it uses RCA jacks.However any legitimate source will work,
for the audio (red/white) again a vcr works best,but run from source to youre
speaker -in jacks on the pc.The two will sync.Also,R.click the speaker by the
clock,properties,advanced,set to record from playback,chk the line-in
box.Also,
only use the tv cards drivers,no software,for that download WM encoder 9
series
and get the utilities,the WMCAP is the best to get going.Also,dont forget
radio
shack for adapters,a Y adapter going to & from works best with audio....
