Can anyone recommend an external USB TV Tuner for use with CRT???

Need further guidance on USB tuner for PC and a CRT monitor.

I do not want to record TV's, but do want to view them as I exercise.
I have 2 PC connected to a KVM switch. Windows XP.
I have a 19 inch Sony CRT (not LCD).
I prefer USB tuner.

I do want a remote control to change channels though.

I would split the Cable going to the cable modem to the USB tuner
device with an RF splitter. Only have one cable connection in this
room.

I really do not have the money to get an LCD TV or buy another TV at
this time.

******
1. Will I get a decent picture on CRT with a USB external tuner?
2. OR should I just use a 19inch tube TV from another bedroom even
though I kind of lack the desk space?

3. Which tuner do you recommend that has a remote to change channels
and adjust volume. I can connect the speakers I suppose to audio out on

the TV tuner.

4. I guess software knows to display TV signal as opposed to usual
Windows signal, correct?

Excuse my ignorance.

Thanks,
Patty

I was thinking of this unit: Hauppauge! WinTV-PVR USB2 Personal Video
Recorder for Windows XP.

Anyone have experience on this with a CRT and perhaps splitting signal
with RoadRunner or equivalent?

thank you

Not every problem needs a high tech solution. If you have a TV set
with its own remote, it does exactly what you need. Why boot up a
computer every time you exercise ?

Some tuner products that come with a remote, have slow channel
changing time constant. Some will have less than enjoyable
picture quality. And the reviews you can find, may not cover all
of their sins adequately.

For reviews, look at the Newegg comments:

I have a TV tuner card, but I don't use it because the picture was
bad with broadcast reception. You have cable, and maybe it'll work
better for you. Mine was a waste for me, because I don't have cable.
But for the cost of a tuner card, you could buy a small TV.

Here is a 13" color TV (CRT) for $60. Even has a remote.

Yup, that is what I was thinking Paul. Heck why spend the money for a
PC TV tuner when I can move my TV from the other spare bedroom and get
a printer stand I need anyway and put the printer on the bottom and TV
on top.
Problem solved.

Thanks.
Just took me some time to come up with the most logical answer instead
of getting all geeky/techie about it.

Take care
Patty
