attempting to boot windows xp sith sp2. it flashes past a blue screen with
some printing, to fast to read and then goes tao a screen that says could not
start up and gives a choice to start in regular mode, safe mode, or to
restart at the last good start point. I attempt to start in any of these
modes and I get a Windows\system32\config\System. The system will not go
any further. I have done a windows re-install to no avail.

Thanks for the info but these sites warn against using this if you have an
OEM installed version. I do have an OEM and that means that I do not have the
Windows XP disc to attempt this recovery. I have tried the OEM recovery discs
and they do nothing, not even boot up.
