Boot Problems

My computer stops on the Windows xp screen (the blue bar stops). I can
restart in Safe mode with Networking. I get the following message from the
Event Viewer:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
Fips
intelppm

I have another hardware config that boots fine, but has the lan card and
audio cards disabled. When I disable the network card, the other config
works fine. It seems like a network problem, but I don't know where to start.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The net card is possibly the cheapest component in your system. Buy another
and try it.

It's an integrated card, and what I didn't say is that it works fine in Safe
mode with Networking.

Your error is being caused by some conflict between the built-in net card,
and some other device driver. What that is, only you could determine with
testing. I would opt for the easy and cheap solution. You should, of course,
do as you think best.
