WINDOWS WILL NOT OPEN

After boot up the BIOS appears on screen and the XP logo with loading bar
then the screen is blank. I can hear the computer loading but nothing.
I have tried LAST GOOD CONFIGUATION CHANGED MONITOR and SAFE MODE, in safe
mode the drivers appear on screen then and then freeze.
I had to replace the graphics card owing to the loss of the red gun. I
rebooted and everything came to life I went into display to alter resolution.
Stupid I know but I think I inevitably disabled the adapter driver.
I know I have to enable the adapter driver but how if I can not see the
screen.
Has anyone the answer Thanks

The "red gun" is in your monitor, not your graphics card. You replaced
the graphics card with what hardware? Did you uninstall the old one
first and then properly install the new one? Did you install drivers
from either ATI or Nvidia?

Turn the machine off and unplug it. Reseat the new graphics card or put
in the old one again and uninstall it properly if you did not already
do so.

We need more details about your hardware in order to give you more
focused help.

Have tried unplugging the machine and rebooting tried going back to original
card reseating new card and still nothing on the screen, after XP logo the
screen is blank.
I feel the problem lies in me disabling the adapter in the display. I can
not get into the system to undo or put anything right. I haven’t installed
anything or uninstalled anything apart from disabling the adapter.
Information I have is the motherboard is ASUS A7V8X-MX SE. VGA interface
AGP8X.
The guy who sold me the card told me to insert new card into the slot and
connect the VGA cable. Which I did and on reboot colour was restored. He also
told me I would have to adjust the resolution. On reboot it still was not
right that is when I disabled the adapter and forgot to enable it before I
turned the computer off. Since then I had the problem.
As you no doubt you have guessed I am a novice on repairing machines but I
try to learn normally by my mistakes.
Unfortunately to find a reputable repairman here in Gran Canaria is difficult.
I have had them put a pirate copy of windows on a previous computer replaced
a perfectly good hard drive and did not want to give me the old one back and
I could go on.

Since you can't get into Safe Mode, then try a Repair Install. If the
Repair Install doesn't work, then do a Clean Install. The alternative
would be to make a Bart's PE and change the video settings or enable
the adapter from there, but since you say you are a novice that's
probably not going to be practical for you.

Sorry for delay in replying have been back to the UK.
Followed your advice and formated the hard drive and reinstalled windows all
up and running The only problem I have is I cant find the drivers for a raid
controler unable to find the manufacturer on the card. I belive there is a
website where you can enter the FC number(MP680) and that will tell you the
manufacturer. Only name I can find on the card is Zeon. If you have any ideas
please let me know

If you don't have any luck, buy a new controller card. Much simpler and not
particularly expensive.
