Hi Smirnoff,

Yes, we have heard of other people with this problem. We are still
researching for a solution.

Hi,
Me too, same problem. Brand new machine. Dual Core 4200+, 1Gb RAM.
WVUA runs for 1-2 minutes, then tells me there's a problem. Doesn't tell me
which problem ! not very clever ! Suggests me to download newer version, but
there ain't no new version... Maybe a forthcoming 1.1 ? Who knows ?

Hi Damien,

newer version On the download page, it shows "date published". If it is
more recent than when you last downloaded VUA, then there is a newer version.

This scanning error is still being researched.

Hello
I had the same problem.
When I went online to download the newer version I ran the program first.
It then ran fine with no further download.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help, but it is still the same version 1.0 and my problem is
still the same. Date published : 2/16/2007, same date.
I'm starting to wonder if it was a good idea to purchase an upgrade.
Not sure I'm gonna install it on my computer...
Tried to find a log or something like that on my machine. Nothing.
Would be a good idea to implement some sort of trace in the advisor so that
we could see where the error occurred, no ? (OK, the scanning would take a
long time because of the multiple open/write/close operations, but it would
be helpful !)
Thanx anyway for trying to help...
Keep waiting for VUA 1.1...

Hi Damien,

I understand you concern about trying Vista if you can't return it after you
open it. I don't know when we'll find a solution for this problem.

Your post indicates that you're undecided. I don't want you to wait too long
to decide. Check with the merchant you bought it from to be sure you decide
before you go past their due date to accept returns.

Ask the company that made your computer if it's supposed to run Vista. Maybe
they'll say that your model is OK or not OK.

Meanwhile, we will conitinue looking for a solution.

Hi all,

In a separate thread, someone posted something that fixed this scanning
error for them. Tapspat wrote that he did not have an internet connection
when he got the error. It worked when he was connected to the internet.

Please check this and post back with your results.

Thank you, Mike
