windows Vista upgrade advisor

Does anyone else have a problem running Windows Vista upgrade advisor? It
keeps returning an error message when I try to run it. It never advises me of
anything and yes it does check for upgrades before it runs. I HOPE VISTA
WORKS BETTER THAN THE UPGRADE ADVISOR DOES. CAN ANYONE SAY SERVICE PATCH!!!!
