Windows Vista Sync Errors

E

Erick

I have read in the past that Sync Center in Windows Vista has some
issues, I will describe my issue and see if I can get a suggestion for
my problem.
Machine with Windows Vista Business, fully updated.
Machine with Windows XP SP2, fully updated.

The Winxp computer creates a share, the share has documents. Machines
are in same network.
The Vista machine connects to the share and maps the share as Z:.
Then in Vista, I select a single MS word 2003 file in the Z: share and
I make it to be available offline.
I work in Vista, in offline mode with the ms word file. Then I go
online and try to do a sync. The sync fails with the following errors:
a- Access Denied. Just that, no more info, not even in the event
viewer.
b- for the file that created the access denied error, a GUID-like .TMP
file is created in the same folder.

I know I am not the first, I have read these same issues in this forum
in the past, but the last post about it was April 09. Was a hotfix
available?

SInce both my computers are fully updated, I know is not an updated
that has been made available in the Windows Update site (in case such
update exists)

Thanks for your comments, I have no way to offline-sync a folder or
even a simple file.

thanks,
