After years of waiting, Microsoft have finally released Windows Vista to consumers. Reports from testers suggest that this latest addition to the Windows family is generally accepted to be a good improvement over XP in terms of speed and stability.

The BBC features a look at the most important new features that may prompt some people to upgrade. It is worth noting that the basic version of Vista will not feature as much eye candy as the more expensive versions.

UK OEM prices are around £54 for Vista Home Basic and £62 for Vista Home Ultimate

With Microsoft providing support for XP for at least 4 more years, it will give me more time to learn Linux.
I doubt i will use Vista in my home PC's, but will do so at work.
