Windows (Vista) Mail on XP machine?

Seems like I can't have OE on my new Vista machine... can I get the
Windows Vista mail program to run on an XP machine?

I'd like to be able to back up to my server and have one of my other
(XP) machines use the same files when needed.

Followup question - is Vista SP1 still "Windows Mail" or is it
"Windows Live Mail" now? If not... what's the difference in the two
programs?

Thanks,

I don't think you can get Windows Mail on your XP machine. You can however
download Windows Live Mail and install it on both XP and Vista machines and
transfer the files as needed. Windows Live Mail is located here:

That depends on how you define "replace".
When WLM was released last November, its program manager
stated that it was a replacement for OE (on XP) and Windows
Mail (on Vista). However, there are millions of Vista DVDs that
only have Windows Mail as the included email program, so it
will continue to have a large presence.
There is little doubt that Microsoft wants WM users to switch to
WLM, since MS has stopped all development and fixes for WM.
