What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them cause
assorted problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

For a temporary fix, download and install this hotfix, with Windows
Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first.

Uncheck the Preview Pave and you should be able to delete the message.

Just installed Vista SP1. It seemed to take care of the problem with that
rogue Email because I was able to
delete it with no problem.

Cnet had a pointer to SP1 and I was able to dload it. Install took some time
but went OK.

This tends to confirm that Microsoft has incorporated the KB941090
hotfix in SP1.
