First you have to install an anti virus application as one does NOT come stock with the OS.

Which one did you install and why would you want to disable it ?

Learn how to ask questions; see here:

You have provided NO information for anyone to work with; thus, you could
only expect guesses for responses.

I assume you have an installation that asks you to do that? There are few
reasons to disable virus protection these days, for what that's worth; are
you sure you have to?

XP does not have virus protection included with it. So, IF you have any
virus protection, it's something you had to have added to your computer.
You would have to check the documentation that came with whatever anti-virus
software that was installed. It -might- have come bundled with your PC, but
we have no way of knowing that, or which one it may be.

If you don't have virus protection, and none was ever installed, then you
need it, badly, and ASAP! You should also have a firewall and anti-spyware
applications. And, you have to keep them constantly updated.

They can all be sourced free from the 'net but I'm not making suggestions
at this point because I have no idea whether you need them.
