If I were to upgrade from windows ME to Windows XP, will it erase my
important current programs thats on my hard drive, and will i be able to
still open them in the windows XP?

hi,
usually upgrading the OS just upgrades the OS.
Not sure what you mean by "important current programs".
but before any upgrade of anything, is is always a good
idea to back up anything that is important(files). make
sure that you have all of you applications install discs
before upgrade.
As to your important currrent programs workin in xp, can't
say. xp has a compatability wizard that will tell you.
Regards
Frank
