I work in an office with 12 computers that work off of a server. I am
basically in charge of all computer issues. I have been able to update all
computers in my office except my own. I get this message: "Network policy
settings prevent you from using this website to get updates for your
computer". I have administrator rights and am set up in the server as so.
Please help

Thank you for this information. I did try it, however, when I got through
'Computer Config', then 'Adm Templates', then 'Windows Components', there
was no 'Windows Update' to click on to proceed to double-clicking in
'Configue Automatic Updates'.

Karen,

It's there is all of my XP systems here. The "Windows Update" option is the
last but one, appearing before Windows Media Player entry.

I just attempted to do those instructions again and again under the Computer
Confi, Adm Templates, and under Windows Components, Windows Updates is
missing.

Thanks for such a quick response. I did exactly that, and this time Windows
Updates was there! But, it did not work. I restarted after following those
instructions and tried to update again and I got this error message:

[Error number: 0x8DDD0003]
Network policy settings prevent you from using this website to get
updates for your computer.

If you believe you have received this message in error, please contact
your system administrator.

Read more about steps you can take to resolve this problem (error
number 0x8DDD0003) yourself.
