I have a computer that gets error 0x8DDD0004 when I try
to use windows update. It happens during the "Checking
for the latest version of the Windows Update software"
phase. Can't find anything in the knowledge base
referencing this error.

You might want to post your issue to the experts in the Windows Update
Newsgroup:
