The new Microsoft Update "publishes" the updates to the
update service.
INSTALL the software.
It is NOT part of or in any way related to Microsoft
OFFICE/Publisher which is a printing/HTML program.

message | Starting this morning when I go to the Windows Update
site, It says
| "checking if computer has the latest version of Windows
updating software
| for use with the website". Then I get an Internet Security
Warning asking me
| if I want to install this software. Publisher: Microsoft
Windows Publisher.
| I then get the option to "install" or "do not install".
When I check do not
| install, the problem is not solved. If I wait too long to
make a decision of
| installing or do not install, I get an error #0X8DDD0004.
Whenever I go back
| to Windows Update, that same message - "Internet Security
Warning" about
| Publisher appears. I don't use MS Office or MS Publisher.
|
| This is where I found that post. After clicking on the
link below, the
| message is the 4th one down "Windows Update error:
0X8DDD0004" and Johann
| was the name who posted. He said he installed this update
and it worked.
| Should I install it?
