Does anyone have a resolution to the issue of being unable to receive the
windows update MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB927978) ?

Using XP pro with office XP pro and this is the only update I cannot get. I
had to turn off automatic update because it constantly downloads and fails to
install.

I would recommend you post to the experts in the windows update newsgroup.
First check the posts there to see if there are any dealing with your issue
