Windows Update

After the message asking me to load the new Microsoft Update Service which
includes updates for all MS Products, automatic updates will not load. It
starts to download and then stops and the icon disappears. When look at the
Norton log it says something about blocking a Trojan horse virus on port
1042. It also said the process was svchost.exe.

I have also noticed that my user account is always left open when I shut
down. I am not sure if this is normal or not. I also received a message
about Office not correctly registering in NT/Authority. When I looked up
the message for Office it said Office must be added to the trusted zone? I
do not understand why MS has made just adding a program a major operation.
If a program needs to be added to something it should do it during the
install.

This actually started after I loaded MSN Messenger 7.

Does anyone else have this problem.

First, question is would be where did this message come from ?

Second, how can your user account be 'left open' when you shut down ?
Shutdown means just that, shutdown and power off.
