windows update

Recently, I encountered a problem with the windows update
page. A customers computer could not update from the
website. After reading the knowledge base of articles it
sent me to (i.e. cleaning folders and deleting files,
checking registry entries) I am still unable to get
updates for this XP Home computer. Any help?
