Windows Update

MicroSoft Helper:

Please assist me with a problem with my Windows Update
function. Within the last 2 weeks or so, this function
no longer works properly on my XP system. When the icon
takes me to the webpage, it says " Checking for the
latest version...and then click Install or Yes to install
the software." at the top of the page, and the Status Bar
at the bottom says "Done", but nothing else happens, no
matter how long I wait for it to check my computer. Help!

Have you tried the Windows Update News Group with this question:
