I recently updated my Windows XP Pro copy to the latest
and greatest from the microsoft website. Now, somewhere
in the transition, almost every single one of the exe
files on my computer have been turned into this DOS-only
application, and the programs won't run. It did it to
everything too- from IE to outlook- everything. I don't
really know what could have happened, as I let the
install process run and it all seemed normal. I tried to
do a system restore, but the restore points got deleted
somehow, and I had just done one before the backup
started. Any help/suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
