Windows Update not working

Since doing a non-destructive system recovery, my Windows Update will not
work. I go to set it up, says its checking for latest updates and that is
where it stays. It does nothing else. Downloading the updates manually
doesn't work either. HELP!

I'm sure there is an anwer for my problem already on here, but I do not have
the time to search for it. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the Windows Update News Group:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsupdate or
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Try this: Start>Run and type the following lines one by one and hit <Enter> at each end:

regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\atl.dll
regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wucltui.dll
regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll
