Windows Update KB829558 and KB820888 Failed

Windows Update history says that these updates failed.

Failed Saturday, October 25, 2003 Update for Jet 4.0
Service Pack 8 (KB829558) Web site

Failed Saturday, October 25, 2003 Update for Windows 2000
(KB820888) Web site

When installed, these appeared to be updating but
eventually failed. I had to reboot several times. The
above failure messages are the last entries in Windows
Update history.

As these were shown as critical updates, how can I tell if
they were actually installed? Either way, what do I do
next?

Assuming that you are using XP or W2K Control panel-add remove programs
you should jind them at the bottom of the page
