Hi jody :)
I was HIJACKED! I got the problem fixed (I am back to a
real homepage) but my WINDOWS UPDATE option has been
removed from TOOLS and replaced by a link to a shopping
site.

Where do I find/fix the file responsible for my IE toolbar?

Try the following and see if it helps.

Open IE | View | Toolbars |
Make sure the following toolbars are checked
Standard
Address
Links

Also do the Customize on the bottom of the Toolbars dropdown.....you can add
or remove items for the toobars there as well.

More information here:

Toolbars: Use ToolbarCop:

Hope this helps.

Jody,

Type this command in the RUN box, and press Enter:

Rundll32 Iedkcs32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs

The Windows Update menu text and it's corresponding URL is not reset to factory defaults.
