Browser Hijack Recover

Which hijacker has worked for you?

Has anyone used Browser Hijack Recover(BHR) is a safe and easy-to-use tool
that recovers your browser after it has been hijacked by Spyware, Adware,
Hijackware, and other pests. Browser Hijack Recover(BHR) wills scan your
registry and fix IE Homepage, IE Default Page, IE Search Page, BHOs, IE
Menu, Internet Options, IE Search Hooks, IE Toolbars, IE Context Menu, and
registry. It resumes your browser to the state that was just installed.
Browser Hijack Recover (BHR) is designed for computer users, not experts.

Is there a new IE Spybot utility that will restore the registry to all IE
defaults to return the search page / home page / etc. to the microsoft
defaults?

Hi,

While I am unsure of whether there are any new utilities
that set it back to default, there are many techniques that
can be used to do just that.

The first, and perhaps most obvious, is the Restore
Defaults button in IE:

Open Internet Explorer, then Click on Tools, and Internet
Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Click on the 'Restore Defaults' button.
Click yes to any prompts.

However, in the event you have more specific desires, the
following is available:

To reset your search settings to the defaults, try the
following patch:

To remove the ISP branding, you may use the following:

---
Click [Start] [Run] Type any of the following command and
press Enter

"Rundll32 Iedkcs32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs"
or
"Rundll32 Iedkcs32.dll,Clear"
---[ from: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#Branding ]

Hope this is of some use,

Regards,

Altrus

Further,

You should also note that IE also allows for the
resetting of program and search settings -

Open Internet Explorer,
Click on Tools, then Internet Options,
Click on Programs,
Click on Reset Web Settings.
Click Yes to any prompts.

Best regards,
