Will Service Pack 2 try to automatically download if Windows Update set to automatically download updates?

Don;
Then disable Automatic Updates because SP2 will be a Critical Update
and most likely will be installed if you have it enabled.

Be sure to install the other Critical Updates.

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I know it is down the road. I should clarify...

I currently have automatic update enabled for about 150 machines at
two schools. I would like to know if I should go back and turn off
the auto update. I do not want to download SP 2 automatically. I
suspect most of the old educational SW will require more tweaking
after SP 2. I would be better to work out all the "issues" before
installation.

Marc;
Thank you for letting me know.
However if you are unsure, my suggestion may still be best.

I agree with proper preparation.
This link has helped countless people install SP 1 and I expect to use
the same fore SP 2 possibly with some modifications:

I am not so sure that SP2 will be a Critical Update. There are so many
changes that I don't think we will want to have people install this without
preparation and planning.
