windows start up sound

when i start my pc (win xp home) the windows sound plays
and almost at the end of it, it makes this sharp snaping
sound, wondering why and what causes it.and hoe to fix it

I would update your sound card drivers. Just go to the website of the
manufacturer and look for the most current version of drivers.
